Holiday villa Cortijo Molinero near La Herradura, Almuñecar, Costa Tropical, Andalucia

Cortijo El Molinero is a detached, two-storey villa with private pool and stunning views over the Mediterranean. The property is situated in a quiet, rural area above the coastal resort of La Herradura-Almuñécar on the Costa Tropical.
 
There are amazing panoramic views from the house over the blue Mediterranean and the surrounding farmlands and hills to the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the east. It is a very peaceful setting. In front of the house there is a large covered terrace looking out over the azure pool to the valley beyond. It is the perfect place for dining al fresco and there is also a barbecue.
 
The entrance to the house leads into a spacious, rectangular living room with sofas and TV area and a dining area with a fireplace. Just to the left of the entrance is a fully-equipped kitchen where meals can be easily handed out to the terrace. At the back of the house on the ground floor there is a sizeable bathroom with bath, shower, toilet and sink. At the other end of the living room, on the right, there is an attractively tiled staircase which leads to the upper floor and the 4 bedrooms, another bathroom and the upper terrace. Three of the bedrooms have direct access to the upper terrace.  There are magnificent views from upstairs, even from bed!
 
The villa is very pleasant and rather rustic. Surrounding the house are sub-tropical plants, such as trumpet trees and parrot flowers. On the west side there is another small terrace with seating under the shade of a gnarled carob tree.
 
A narrow, 7 km long, paved mountain road leads up to the holiday home with fantastic views of the sea on the way. The last 300m section to the parking area by the house is unpaved but is easy enough with any car. All in all, it is a straightforward drive and very worthwhile for the views and because Cortijo El Molinero is a wonderfully quiet and beautiful location.
 
The nearest beach (7 km from the house) is a small bay just below the junction of the access road to Almuñecar. After La Herradura and the spectacular beaches of the Natural Park Acantillados de Maro, it is about 3.5 km. The coastal resort of Almuñecar or Maro are about 10 km away and Nerja is about 14 Km. Málaga Airport is about 85 Km.
