Axarquia

The AXARQUIA is located somewhat inland a the east of Málaga and part of the Costa del Sol. The region, characterized by Mediterranean vegetation, rightly advertises the best climate in Europe.

The mild climate allows the cultivation of avocados, figs, olives, vines, chirimoyas and citrus fruits. The specialties of the region include sweet wine (Moscatel), fig bread, raisins and olive oil.

The enchanting, hilly landscape is dotted with small whitewashed and hospitable places.

Traditions are still practicised: at the beginning of spring on the "Día de la Cruz", the squares and streets are adorned with colorful crosses and visitors are offered products from local gastronomy.

In the month of August, the "Festival of 3 Cultures" takes place, it is a confluence of music, gastronomy and Andalusian joie de vivre.

Andalucia Natural offers holiday homes close to the white villages of Frigiliana, Sedella and Torrox Pueblo.

The sea is only a few kilometers drive away, numerous beautiful beaches and bays can be found in the area around the pretty coastal towns of Nerja / Maro and in the adjacent landscape conservation area Acantilados de Maro / Cerro Gordo.

Eight villages of the Axarquía together with four Granadine communities form the park of the Sierra de Tejeda-Almijara, cover an area of 40,000 hectares. For nature lovers, the tourist office has published a corresponding brochure with eight itineraries describing the most scenic and fascinating spots in the area.

The privileged location gives the AXARQUIA a tremendous variety of scenic attractions. An ideal destination for nature and hinterland tourism

Las Alpujarras

The LAS ALPUJARRAS region, on the southern mountainside of the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in the Spanish mainland, boasts a unique, original, terraced cultural landscape and breathtaking views. In the higher elevations, on a clear day, there is even a fabulous view across to North Africa.

Most of our Alpujarra cottages are located in the surroundings of the villages of Órgiva and Lanjarón at an altitude of 450 to 650 meters above sea level. The pleasant, temperate climate is warm and sunny most of the year. A day at the beach is only about 35 minutes away. The Alpujarras are the perfect base to discover the original Andalusia and for a wonderful holiday, right next to the bright blue swimming pool, surrounded by orange trees and ancient olive groves.

Our holiday homes and holiday apartments in the higher Sierra Nevada / Alpujarra Alta region are especially recommended for holidaymakers looking for more seclusion and a moving nature experience. The area around the villages of Soportujar, Pampaneira, Capileira, Pitres, Ferreirola and Mecina offers countless opportunities for hiking, cycling and horseback riding in a breathtaking mountain landscape.
