Rural holiday home close to hamlet Capilerilla, Pitres, Las Alpujarras, Andalucia

Alpujarras holiday apartment "Casa Hylacar" with 2 bedrooms

500 meters east of the Alpujarran village of Capilerilla, this apartment is surrounded by nature, but is not isolated. The house is built completely in the traditional style of the region, with metre-thick stone walls and natural materials (wood, stone and limestone). The unsealed terracotta floors and artistic tiles in the kitchen and bathroom make for good insulation and create a unique atmosphere. It is a very special house, built and designed by a creative woman who made the tiles in her own workshop using traditional handicraft.

The apartment is located at an altitude of 1400 meters in a rural, semi-natural environment in the Sierra Nevada las Alpujarras Nature Park.  The hiking opportunities could not be better, just like the view from the house over the park's mountain ranges.

A special bonus is the nearby spring where one can get the best quality fresh drinking water with a pitcher - for those guests looking to try out rustic living (there is of course also drinking water from the tap in the house).

The apartment is the eastern wing of the house  and has its own entrance and its own private garden. Guests will be able to enjoy complete privacy. The house and garden are particularly suitable for children. There are no stairs apart from 2 steps leading to the bathroom.

The house is accessed from the owner's garden and leads into a very comfortable, large main room, which is divided into different areas: the open kitchen, a cosy sofa area by a wood stove and a dining area with table and chairs.

There are 2 rustic and comfortably furnished bedrooms. One with a double bed and the second with 2 single beds.  The twin room is not separated by a door from the living room but by a curtain.

The bathroom is a work of art and a good example of traditional andalusian tile art. All the tiles ("azulejos") are handmade and some are very valuable individual pieces.

You reach the house by way of the Alpujarran village of Pitres, which takes 5 minutes by car (about 15 minutes on foot). The small road up the mountain is steep and winding and the last 50 metres are not paved. The car park is next to the house and only 20 metres to the front door.

There is a selection of shops, restaurants and cafes in nearby Pitres, as well as a bank and medical care.
